On Thursday, January 17, the 24th seasonal expedition of Ukrainian researchers, the largest and longest expedition of Ukraine since 2001, left for Antarctica. 26 Ukrainian polar explorers will stay in Antarctica for 2-2,5 months. For the first time, the expedition will include a woman - biologist Mariia Pavlovska.
Ukraine is resuming full-fledged expeditions to the South Pole to fully unleash the scientific potential of the station. The statistical series of observations accumulated at the station since the 1940s are unique to international Antarctic projects and allow our scientists to make a significant contribution to the world science.
